  • 5 Stars all the way around. Greeted and seated right away at lunch on a Saturday. This was our first visit to a Russ's and it won't be our last. MY wife ordered cold drink and the Meatloaf stacker and added fries. I ordered coffee, water, and the Big Dutchman Supreme (comes with Bacon, Swiss cheese, Lettuce Tomato and mayo- I skipped the mayo) adding fries and coleslaw. Drinks came out fast and the coffee was hot and fresh. Never had to wait for a refill. Great service. The waitress brought out my coleslaw in two dishes ( just in case I wanted to share with my wife ). Of course I did. It was fantastic. Crispy, cold and very fresh tasting. The coleslaw alone is worth a return visit. Our food followed shortly. I like to rate burgers so these are my opinions only and may not suit everyone. I had the option of a 3rd or a 1/2 pound patty. I opted for the 1/2. The patty was hand formed and seasoned, cooked medium and had great flavor. Toppings were fresh and tasted great. Bacon was perfectly cooked. The bun was a gourmet bun that was buttered but not toasted ( in my opinion, a toasted bun would make a home run burger taste like a grand slam burger). And like everyone else, a slice of processed Swiss cheese. This where the burger fell a bit short. I get economy and all, but a slice of real cheese on a burger is a must. The meatloaf stacker was rated by my wife as outstanding. The brown gravy was out of this world. the meatloaf was well seasoned and perfect. So a winner there. The french fries were skinny and served with the plate on mine and in a bowl for my wife. They were very good , so a A+ there. We had our desert to go so more on that later. All and all an outstanding experience and great food. Worthy of another visit. Came for another visit on 26 Jul 2024. Great food as always. Great service but a shout out to our server Brooklyn who was very nice and personable. It was a great meal and we felt welcomed.

  • I ate at this location when I was a kid with my grandparents. Great food and service back then. They have since renovated and did a good job of it. The food is still really good and homestyle. The service is outstanding. Prices are reasonable. You won’t regret stopping in!

  • Good burger and amazing fries. Their burger menu is extensive! - All American Bacon Cheese Burger - $13 + $1.50 (upgrade from third to half pound patty): The burger overall was good. The burger patty was a bit smaller compared to other half pound patty burgers I’ve tried, but was juicy. It was almost a smash patty the way it was made (true smash patties are thin to cook faster). It was fairly good quality meat. The toppings were balanced and fairly fresh. The bun is an excellent choice for a burger. It needed a bit of salt and pepper (it tasted flat). You cannot see the bacon in the picture or in person, but it is there and it was the right amount to balance the flavors. Once I did that, the amazing quality of the rest of the burger came alive. - Fries - $2 extra with the burger that normally comes with chips: The fries were amazing good. Some of the best fries I’ve had in a while and probably my top five in the Grand Rapids area. They are cooked right, battered, and seasoned perfectly. It did have a bit more salt than I usually like, but this time it worked really well and I cannot complain. Considering the burger and fries came to $16.50+tax, it is a little on the expensive side compared to other half pound burgers and fries out there. Yes, I factored in the bacon. - Oreo Malt: (yeah, I'm strange). It was delicious beyond a doubt! I had that thing gone in seconds. - Service: Our waitress was attentive and kind. She made sure we were taken care of. Everyone there seemed to carry themselves very positively. - Atmosphere: Dark accents including dark wood and stone but lit up nicely. They have tables and chairs as well as booths. It was remodeled a few years ago and still has that new restaurant feel. I’ve been here a few times in the last 20 years or more and it is a staple for many in the area. It is a friendly force to be reckoned with. The staff are often well connected to each other and their clientele in a friendly way. - Conclusion: Who doesn’t recommend Russ’? Visited at 11am on a Monday.
